Dental Problems Corrected with Cosmetic Treatments

Cosmetic dentistry can change the size, shape, and alignment of the teeth. Treatments are available to fill in spaces, correct the bite, brighten the color of the teeth, replace missing teeth, replace old dental treatments, and repair decayed, chipped, cracked, or broken teeth.

The cosmetic treatments available to our patients include:

  • Porcelain Crowns – A crown is a cap that covers the entire tooth and can restore the size and shape of the tooth and protect the tooth structure. Porcelain is used because it resembles the natural tooth color, offers a high level of durability, and can be crafted to match the shape, size, and color of your natural teeth.
  • Porcelain Veneers – Veneers are thin pieces of tooth-shaped porcelain that are custom made for shape and color. The veneers are bonded to the front of the existing teeth and can be used to correct severely discolored teeth, uneven spaces, teeth that are too small or too large, chipped teeth, crooked or misshapen teeth, and create a uniform, white smile.
  • Tooth Whitening – Whitening treatments can correct yellow or brown stains, stains caused by medications, fluorosis, and normal wear of the outer tooth layer. The treatment only works on natural teeth and will not lighten restorations. Two appointments are needed. At the first, impressions (molds) are made of the teeth to create custom clear plastic trays and another appointment to check the fit. The trays are used with a special whitening solution twice a day to whiten the teeth.
  • Restorations – Restorations can be used to fill in spaces between teeth, correct an improper bite, prevent tooth loss, relieve pain repair damaged or decayed teeth, replace missing teeth, replace old, unattractive dental treatments, and restore normal eating and chewing.
